I come from farming people. My parents were raised working the land in eastern Colorado, and by twelve I had my own lawn care business.
The work has evolved significantly since then. Over the last decade-plus, I've managed some of the most complex residential landscapes in the Portland hills — multi-acre estates with trail systems, heritage trees, edible gardens, ornamental collections, and terrain that changes with every season. Properties that ask more than maintenance. Properties that require someone who learns them.
My approach is straightforward: I treat every property as a living system. I pay attention to what's already working, I don't impose solutions that don't belong to the land, and I show up consistently enough to notice when something is shifting before it becomes a problem.
Beyond the horticultural work, I hold an MA in counseling with a focus on somatic and ecological systems — training that sharpened my capacity to observe, hold complexity, and work with what's actually there rather than what a checklist expects. That skill set transfers directly to land.
I work with a small number of properties at a time. That's intentional. Your land gets my full attention — not a revolving crew.
